need drivers. and some and some other help

I've just installed Linus Mint 6 "felicia" on an old pc..Installation went easy but I cannot get much of my plug in hardware to work.

I found drivers for my canon printer Pixma ip 3300, that now works but I don't have any of the printer maintenance controls I had under windows.

I cannot find drivers for my microtek scanmaker 4600 scanner or my logitech camera and I cannot get online as the o/s does not see my netcomm adsl modem NB1300.I cannot find drivers for the modem.

I've navigated around the o/s alright for day one but cannot find any maintence programs like defrag or registry edit stuff like that, do they exist in Linux?

Thanks in advance for any helpful answers.

No defrag required and if your filesystem detects corruption it scans automatically, it's not Windows so you'll need to take off your Windows hat and put on a Linux one :)

From the top - check to make sure your hardware is supported at http://www.linux-drivers.org/

Canon printer drivers from Canon which will probably include their tools can be downloaded here: http://software.canon-europe.com/sof...336.asp?model=

That Netcomm router has USB or Network (RJ45) connection. Connect to your PC via Network port and it should work out of the box if you've preconfigured the ADSL when it was attached in Windows?

What's the Logitech camera? There's lots of them about and most are supported.

Thanks for the advice. i am downloading the canon file as I type this. I did get the printer to work but quality was poor and i no longer had all the printer maintenance controls like head clean /alighnment etc.

The cam is a logitech fusion as i recall.

The modem was plug and play under windows through a usb connection and worked well but linux does not seem to see it with a usb connection.
