need better instructions Trying to install Linksys wusb100 wireless adapter

I am new at Linux, looking forward to learning it. For now though, I need to get connected to the internet with Linux Mint. I tried Ubuntu, it worked on it's own. I wanted a better os, so I installed Mint. Now, I can not figure out the process of setting up the wireless adapter.
Also, wired networking with my Windows XP laptop with be handy too. Thanks in advance to all for the help.

Note: I have been searching the forums and internet for help. Just can't get clear instructions because I don't know enough yet about programing.
