Need assistance with adding a HP C6100 Printer
I just installed Zorin OS 9 on a Toshiba laptop. I am trying to add a wireless HP C6100 printer and not having any luck. I noticed that when I take the option to add I see both a WORKGROUP and workgroup listed.
The other 2 pc's on this home network are using Windows 7. Do I need to configure the Zorin laptop to be on the same Workgroup to resolve the issue? Also is the HP C6100 supported? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ! |
I know little about Zorin OS, but a quick search shows that it is based on Ubuntu. Anyway, there is HPLIP support for this printer. I can only only offer general advice as I don't use either distro.
I have the following PPDs available hp-photosmart_c6100_series-hpijs.ppd.gz (corresponding to basic foomatic-rip printer driver) hp-photosmart_c6100_series-hpijs.ppd.gz (corresponding to more advanced hpcups printer driver) I believe the first is supplied by the 'hpijs-ppds' package. For the second, you'll probably need to install HPLIP http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web...os/ubuntu.html Hope that's enough to get you started. |

If it really is network attached, it should be possible to set up using Code:
