Need access to IIS AppPool\DefaultAppPool to NAS share

I may be trying solve a windows problem through a linux interface, but not sure if there is a better way.

Our NAS shares have a unique host which has root access to the shares. Not all hosts have root access to the shares. So permission updates to the shares managed through this unique host. This works fine in a complete linux environment.

However, one of the shares is mounted as a CIFS share on a windows host through a service account and root access to this share is managed by this unique linux host.

I need to give write access to the CIFS share for the windows account "IIS AppPool\DefaultAppPool" for some IIS web service to work correctly.

I could not figure out a way to do that through windows and was wondering if root access to the linux host was a cause. Can I provide write access to "IIS AppPool\DefaultAppPool" through my linux host with root access.

As obvious, I am not sure if this windows problem to be solved through Linux interface or a linux problem to be solved through windows.

Please assist or provide any suggestions.

Thank You for your time.
