Need a DataBase..
Hi Folks,
This is becoming an habbit!! Just discovered something that my Mepis will not do, or not as it stands... I need a Data-Base simular to Access?? How else am I going to keep track of my 300 Cactus plants (True! where do you think the name came from, well Psoriasis actually). In the early DOS day's I used DB3 and did a bit of primative SQL programming. Many thanks Cactusface |
If you use Openoffice, add the base component.

Hi,
That sounds nice and simple, but how?? remember I am a newbie!! Could you point me in the right direction. Thanks Mel |
will synaptic not have this listed under search "openoffice base"

The Mepis wiki has instructions for installing software from their repositories.

DataBase Preoblem-solved
Hi Smiley_lauf and macemoneta,
Thanks for the suggestion, yes it worked, just ask synaptic to find "Openoffice base" and mark, ask to install. It did'ent find 'base' on it's own which was my first try. Seems to work fine, colunms not in same order but sure that's fixable. Again, thanks to all. Mel. |
