I am trying to install NCTUns v6.0 on Fedora 12. i have untared the file. but when i execute "./install.sh" as a root user, i get the following error.
./install: line 88: [: !=: unary operator expected ./install: line 93: [: !=: unary operator expected ./install: line 106: stop_log: command not found Thanks for help |
NCTUns-6.0 ..
Is it this package: NCTUns-allinone-linux-2.6.31.6-f12.20100113.tar.gz ? Usually no issues with NCTUns. Are you sure that your shell is bash ? ( Or could bash be an alias for another shell ? ) Please try : 1) su 2) bash install.sh EDIT : Found this .. http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...all-sh-627423/ . |
Yes the package is NCTUns-allinone-linux-2.6.31.6-f12.20100113.tar.gz
i did "echo $SHELL" and it gave me /bin/bash. so i think my shell is bash. it still gives me the same message. |
how could MKDIR solve the problem ? mentioned at the post? http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...all-sh-627423/
|
Are you in the current directory where the 'install.sh' file is kept? If not then go into that directory and try using -
Code:
# sh install.sh |
@satyaveer. yes i am in the same directory, i executed your command but the result is the same error message
|
# 4.
One suggestion. About the link with the "MKDIR statement" : The OP, @7ser23 has no posts since 2010. May be you could send the OP an email ? He / she may not be subscribed to the thread any more ... → → http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ember&u=398227 And if you solve your issues, please share the solution in a new post, here in the thread. . |
@knudfl. yes i have already emailed him/her. actually you sent me this NCTUns v6 cd just recently to malaysia. and i just can't wait to get going with nctuns. i will share it for sure when the issue is solved.

Well my problem is solved. its not a comprehensive solution but i will tell you what i did. I was trying to install NCTUns v6 on a virtual fedora 12. Previously I installed NS2.34 on the same virtual fedora 12. I just installed a fresh copy of virtual fedora 12 and untared NCTUns and the command ./install.sh just worked :)
|
So, the problem was just because of the package, right?
|
@satyaveer. I can not say for sure. But it worked for me, Maybe NS2 and NCTUns don't like each other :)
