Naming a work space in Mint Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon
Hi all,
I have searched the web and been unsuccessful in finding what I'm assuming will be an easy fix. All I want to do is name my work spaces any help greatly appreciated SOLVED = Fix is to use echo and then click on each tab to name it. whilst it doesnt show the titles that you have named them on the Panel. If you hover over it with mouse it WILL display what you have titled that workspace. So I switched to simple buttons. so I have 4 work spaces and each one is assigned a Title |
Not sure about Cinnamon, but in Mate, right-clicking on the Workspace Switcher brings up the Preferences dialog, which will allow you to not only assign names to each workspace but also display those names.

Naming workspaces
Thanks RockDoctor, unfortunately not so the case in Cinnamon. Not that I've been able to find anyway

Don't understand
@ozzyrod Thx for posting your fix here. Unfortunately I don't understand it, what does "use echo" mean? Can you explain?

Linux Mint can name workspaces
Using Linux Mint 19.3 (Cinnamon)
To name your workspace pull up the screen where you can visually click on the workspace tile, like by pushing your mouse to the hot corner. Click inside the names like "Workspace 1" and "Workspace 2" and edit those labels. |
@rning thx for the hint.
I had quite a while to understand what "pull up the screen" means. On my machine I eventually managed to do it by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Up(Arrow). Hot corners don't seem to work. 19.1 Cinnamon |
