Name of service not known....i need help ASAP


i have an issue...i'm a newbie

i have a user who uses a windows putty client to login to a terminal linux server(for logins), then from this server , she ssh into another server...unfortunately, she wasnt able to login to this terminal server, it gives an error....."Name of service not known, Could not resolve hostname"....what can i do?

you need to give us more information.
Putty is unable to connect to a server, or it was able to connect server A, but cannot ssh from server A to server B?
Can any other user ssh successfully, or they will get the same error message?
Name of service not known, Could not resolve hostname is usually a dns configuration error (or probably it was not configured at all).

Some additional questions:

Is ssh server (sshd) running on the target machine?

Is user "sshing" via hostname or ip address?

If by hostname, does ssh work by ip address?
