NAGIOS/Suse.9 : Creating User/group

Hiya: used YAST in SuSe9 to install NAGIOS. Specific issue I am running into is how to create user/group. The installation thru YAST is not the typical ./configure/make/make install/ etc..
I created a htpasswd file (with User name and encrypt password) and put it /etc/acpache2/
Thats not working properly. I can point my browser to it and but it does not ask me for a user name, etc...

The htaccess.sample file that comes with the tarball. I am assuming you change it to .htaccess, or can u use it as an INCLUDE?

Aye, a wee bit stumped I am.

Welcoem to LQ.

You probably need to add "AuthConfig" to the "AllowOverride" directive for that directory or one of it's parents in httpd.conf
