Hello,

Did you check the Nagios binary at /etc/init.d/nagios
Code:

ls -la /etc/init.d | grep nagios
My suggestion is to reinstall the latest stable release of Nagios 3.2.0. Just follow the instructions

Did you complete the installation?? If so, what was your method of installation?? You may not even need to do the chkconfig part.
Maybe

Code:

service nagios start
Give us some more info...it makes it easier to help you..

"Got strucked"?? By what??

As others have said, follow the instructions for installing Nagios, and install the latest version. Also, since you've got RHEL, have you tried to contact RedHat support, since you're paying for it?

Lol....
You shouldnt really need redhat support for nagios. All the info you need is in the documentation....just read it....
As i said earlier, if it is an rpm install, you will not need to add as a service. But even if you installed from source, there is a make command that adds nagios as a service anyway,,, just read this....
