Nagios - email notification

Im new to linux. i just wanna know step by step to configure email notification from nagios. My company installed this monitoring software recently. We currently monitoring(up/down) our sites with this. The email i want to set is, if the site is down , the system should send email to my NOC(noc@xyz.com). We are using exchange mail server. Kindly advice if there is any documentation which i can go through. Thanks in advance.

Hello and Welcome to LinuxQuestions,

Nagios does not come with a MTA (Mail Transfer Agent) included so it sends its mails standard to localhost. Just install a MTA, for example Postfix, and configure it to relay all your mail to your Exchange server. Plenty of manuals on the internet on how to set up a relay mail server.

I have installed send_mail.pl(plugin). Can any1 explain more detail how to edit this script?
