Mythdora 10.21 64-bit Update makes recordings unviewable

Just installed Mythdora 10.21 64-bit version and got everything configured and working great. Then I let the updater install something like 200 new updates (including a new kernel). After rebooting, when I go to Media Library/Watch Recordings, all my recordings are still listed, but will not play. I get the message "The file for this recording cannot be found". But if I look into /storage/recordings the files are all in there and will play fine with VLC. Any suggestions? Also, I can no longer record tv shows. Although I can watch live tv still. And I can no longer boot into the original kernel, I get a bunch of uploading firmware messages and then the box freezes up. Any thoughts? I guess that I could re-install and turn off automatic updates. But that is not what I want to do. Thanks in advance.
