mysql-relay log issue

I have noticed that mysql-relay log files are getting generated at a frequent interval in the following path,

Each file is 4.0K and consumes memory in the server, Could you tell me how to sort it out.

uname -ar

mysql --version
Distrib 5.1.46

Is your server supposed to be part of a master/slave replication strategy?

If not then check your my.cnf and remove any server-id directive.

If it IS part of a replication strategy then you should be able to set a "expire_logs_days" directive to have the server remove any log files older than the specified interval.
