Cool MySQL logs, problem

Hi

I have a MySQL database on a red hat 9 server, and on the database folder there are some files of logs, but they are some of them that are old, since 2003, and they are using a lot of space, If I delet those files, would affect the database?
hope somebody can help me, thanks a lot!

I can't think of a reason why a log file would be required by the database (if it truly is just a log file). Just to be on the safe side, I'd try just tar-gziping them (or bzip2 if you prefer), so that you can get some space back, but you can restore them if it causes a problem.

Later, if you find that it caused no problems, you can feel better deleting them.
