Mysql error

HI GUYS,

THIS IS KISHORE AND I HAVE UBUNTU 9.01 AND INSTALLED MYSQL 5.1 ON MY SYSTEM AND I AM ABLE TO LOG IN TO MY SQL DATABASE WITH COMMAND

mysql -u root -p but unable to create any database.

if i tried to configure it's giving error ERROR 1006 (HYOOO) : can't create database 'test' (error: 2)

my location for database is /var/lib/mysql and permissions are

drwxrwxrwx mysql root.....

can any one help me on this issue.

show databases;

This will describe all the existing databases. It happens that test is already a default database. Either use it or create another database name.

BTW, there are other apps using the word test. So ...
