mysql db only have .frm file

I just found in the mysql directory , some mysql db only have .frm file but do not have .MYD , MYI , would advise the db can still use or not ? why the db do not have .MYD , .MYI ? can this db be export to a file ? thanks

If there's only .FRM files then it's likely that the table is using the innodb engine, should still be exportable using mysqldump though.
