my VPS


Hello,

I rent VPS that work with Linux and i can run my python files on it easy with nano command.
Now i have .exe file that connect to mirc and i don't know how to open it from my vps ??
I try to type :-

So how i can open it ??
This file can work with double click in my windows, But i don't know how it should work on Linux server.
my server is : OpenVZ VPS Slice (CentOS 1 Slices)

Also same thing when i use this :-

Please post the output of this command:

ls -l /root/spotter.exe
Also note that spotter.exe will probably only run on Windows.

So as you can see spotter.exe is not an executable file (at least not in linux). That's why you can't execute it. As I mentioned before, it's probably a Windows file.

yes it work on windows .. Is there any way to make it work on Linux ??

AFAIK, no, unless you try running it under wine. I have zero experience with wine so I have no idea if that would work or not.

Thank you for this helpful replays and your time .. i got my host install wine for me and now i am trying to set every thing correct so i can start my windows programs.

BTW there are tons of native Linux IRC clients. In general, it's better to use a native application than bothering with WINE, IMO.

If you're looking for an IRC client with a CLI then you can try irssi.
