My ubuntu software center wont work HELP!


Hello so yesterday when i was trying to play a flash game i encounterd the problem that i need unity player so i figured google chrome would allow me to play the game i proceded to this site https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrom...&utm_medium=ha i seemed to download and try to install the wrong thing the download wouldnt work to i cancelled and now my ubuntu software center dosent work ive tryed sudo apt-get update then did sudo apt-get uprade and i was welcomed with this message The package google-chrome-stable:i386 needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.
and now im left with nothing since i dont know what to do if anyone has a solution or can help that would be great ive had ubuntu for a little but done nothing but game on it so i dont know what im doing :c thank you for helping if you do

Hi, you may have a problem with your sources.list. Please post the contents of the sources.list file for us to see. You can find it at /etc/apt/sources.list or use this command in a terminal to bring it up

gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
Next, you are able to download Chrome from Google and then use dpkg to install it. Download it to your download folder open a terminal cd (change directory into that folder

cd /Downloads/
and then give this command

sudo dpkg -i *.deb
This will install any deb package you have in your download folder.
