Question My ROM trouble

So i put up some posts some while ago trying to get awnsers for my ROM troubles, but i never really go an awnser, i have been able to live with these two problems for some time but they have really been bugging me so i have decided to do something about it.
Ok so my first problem is is that i have a Asus CD/DVD reader on my pc. It work ok, but i often have trouble mounting CD/DVDs the first time around, Most times, if i eject the media and stick it back in it usualy works on about the 4th try, but it is just an anoyance. I try mounting it physicaly but it still dosent always work. Any awnsers to this question would be greatly appreceated.
My next question deals with another DVD/CD burner (its a plextor 716A, its a SATA drive), well i have had it for a few months and i still havent figured out how to mount it. I want to have both the reader and the burner running on my pc at the same time (i dont want to have to sacrafice one for the other if it can be helped). I know i have to edit fstab, but i have absolutley no idea what i should type in so that this drive will be mounted.

Any help would be appreceated, thanx in advance for any responses that i get.

p.s- im using mandrake 10.1

As for the first I don't know but suspect a possible hardware problem.

As for the second, you are on track in thinking that you need to edit fstab in order to mount the second cdrom. SImply add another cdrom line to the fstab and give it a mount point like /mnt/cdrom1 or something. Make sure you remember to actually create the new mount point directory.
