Smile My Red Hat 9.0 doesn't play MP3s...


Hi all,

I'm new to linux. I'm using Red Hat 9.0.

When trying to play mp3s it says it can't play (I've installed all the sound related packages).

Is there any method to solve this problem?

Coud you please help me to play my faurite mp3s with my Red Hat Linux installation? ;-)

Red Hat doesn't ship with the xmms-mp3 plugin. Try downloading it here.

Cool

Yes download the xmms program from http://www.xmms.org/download.php and download the (# XMMS 1.2.10 (tar.gz) file...
Once you have unzipped it and installed it reboot your system, then go to Start, Sound & Video and More Sounds click on xmms. Then right click and options and preference..and under input plug-in, scroll to the wave player and click on it then move your cursor to output plug-in the select the device called OSS driver...you should then be able to play your mp3's ......!
