My own domain mails do not deliver
OK, good day all.
Thgis is my story: In some months past, I did have 4 domains hosted in our server (Linux fedora), then 3 domains were transferred to a external hosting service, all it's OK but, if I try to send mail messages with one of the our domains still in our server, to one of current domain in external hosting specifically, the messages do not be delivering to that domain, and I have no mail error come back in my sender inbox mailbox. I did ask to my external hosting provider, if he can see an error in the incoming mailbox in this domain but he says, NO I HAVE NO ERROR, AND NO TRACE OF ANY INCOMING MAIL OF MY OWN DOMAIN IN OUR SERVER. If I try to send mail of my own domain (hosted in our server), to external domains, other that my newest external hosted domains, like (gmail, yahoo, hotmail) the mail send and deliver correctly to the recipients. What I need to review in my mail server? filkes, services, cache files, cache daemons? Thanks al lot for your attentions. |
Let me guess - you have cPanel installed on your server?

Hi betohres,
Welcome to LQ!!! Let me sum it up. You had 4 domains configured on 1 RHEL server. Then 3 of the domains got transferred to external email hosting company. Now, when you send email from RHEL server (which still host 1 domain) to other 3 domains (external) it does not get deliver. However, if you send email from RHEL server to other domains like gmail, yahoo etc it does get deliver. It appears that RHEL server still thinks that it host those 3 domains. Things we need to know: 1. Email service you are running sendmail/postfix? 2. Did you check the mailq when you send email to those 3 domains. 3. mx record for those domains. Are they still pointing to this server or they have been removed? 4. If possible paste related configuration files |

The new current hosting service server, yes, it have a CPANEL. That have some implications? Thanks |
The current external hosting service?, Yes, It have a CPANEL (FEROZOPANEL). Why? This have some implications?. Thanks a lot.

But regardless - the problem will be the same (it's just that for cPanel I would have told you a 10-second solution). As T3RM1NVT0R said - that server most likely still views those 3 domains as internal and the e-mails don't even leave the machine so all we need to establish now is what mail server you are running and, if any, server management software - then amend relevant config files. (Also to be on the safe side - check your /etc/hosts too) And for those that may face similar problem in the future and do have cPanel - all you need to do is delete the lines with relevant domains from /etc/localdomains and insert them into /etc/remotedomains; then restart the mail server) |

-------------------------- Thanks a lot for your attention. 1.- Yes sendmail/posfix 2.- The mailq response is that 3 mails goes out reaching the destinations server and 0 preprocesed tasks 2.1 the qmail-queue commnand says nothing in queue 3.- mx has been removed 4.- Sorry, my firewall lock any configuration file out One thing more. There was one e-mail of one our external domains send to our server hosting domain, and the Firewall Barracuda, catch it, and deliver OK. Thats the onlyone ocurrence, all other do not arrive to a destination server, tehe was no evidence in my Barracuda antispam. Thanks a lot Thanks |

Let me put it this way. Those 3 domains are able to receive email from public domains but not from this domain hosted on your RHEL machine. This RHEL machine is able to receive emails from those 3 domains but not able to send back to them. So the issue appears to be either in this machine or the firewall.
I would like to see the param that you have set for the following: 1. $mydomain 2. $mydestination in your main.cf file. |
