My next problem...

Hi everyone,

So far I have burned a CD with the linux setup (for slackware) on it, and I just made a boot disk. When booting, linux loads (I'm guessing with no problems) untill linux prompts me for to "Insert Root Floppy Disk to be Loaded Into RAM DISK".

I'm confused as to what a "root disk" is, and how I can make one.

Thanks in Advance

Is it not possible to set the bios up so that it can boot the cd?

Otherwize, read the Slackware Linux Essentials (on their site) to learn how to make the root disk.

Check the "Install Help" section on slackware.com. There is a section that explains the various disks.

Well, I read through the instalation help (I'm suprised I didn't think to look there first) but shortly after I ran into a problem. The file I need to make the root disk is larger than a floppy. Is there any way to put a file on multiple disks than insert them in succession?

As for booting off of a CD. I've tried to do this, but after putting all the files on a CD and fotmatting it as a "bootable" CD, my drive always give me the error "No operating system", it fails to boot, or the computer just locks up.

Thanks
