my Mic does not work with Linspire OS

Hi guys i have a small but minor problem , my mic works fine on Windows
system but on Linspire OS it does not seem to work , i am using Audacity
to just record my sound .

please help how can i sort this out i need my mic to work with Skype so i can make
some Internet phone calls.

Well, open up your mixer (the thingy that adjusts your volume, look for one with more than 3 options to change). And make sure your line-in or mic is turned up!
The actual mic doesn't matter, unless you are using a usb mic. Is this mic plugged in via usb or via the input on your soundcard?

the mic is not usb is plug in via sound card where can i find this mixer

I HAVE install this now but what does the two red dots under the Mic mean my chipset is Realteak ALC650F

please help just a small problem causing a big headache
