Unhappy my Linux 16 Cinnamon arrived, but won't load. It goes for about 20 min. then up pops

My Linux Mint 16 arrived yesterday, and won't load. It runs for abut 20 minutes then it pops up an error.
EDD:Error 2000 reading sector xxxx, different ending numbers each time. I tried 3 times.

I have an Asus desktop barebones
windows xp
32 bit

I ordered the disc from Linux, it is not one i burned.

How do I fix this?? Hope someone knows....
I'm sure you will want more info, please be pretty specific on where I can find it, I'm really a beginner.

Thanks in advance!

There should be an option to check the installation media, on the first menu you see. Do you ever get this option?

According to most search results on that error, it is either a bad DVD drive or a bad burn of the ISO image to the DVD. If you know your DVD drive works fine (have recently used it in Windows, for example), then you likely have a disk that wasn't burned right.

If you can, download the ISO file directly yourself here: http://www.linuxmint.com/download.php. Check the md5sum of your downloaded ISO to make sure it matches the value shown at the top of the version page that you downloaded. Burn the ISO image to a DVD, or use a program like UNetbootin to make a live USB instead.

Do you think it maybe a faulty disk? I went with the purch option because it sounded like people had more problems burning
It. I havent had problems with the dvd drive, except it doesnt open as easily as when it was new.

Hope
i can get it up and running soon. Any ideas how i can contact them for a new dvd?

Unfortunately, that's what it looks like. If you can test booting the disk on another computer that should tell you for sure.
