my LaserjetProMFP127fn will print wirelessly from linux mint 15, not with Mint 17.3

I have an HP laptop not running Windows and rather Linux Mint 15 Cinnamon, Linux Mint 17.3 and Ubuntu 15.4 mate, in a multiple boot configuration. With Linux mint 15 I can print correctly wirelessly with my LaserjetProMFPM127fn printer, now with the other two applications, printer driver installs through cups apparently but when I try to print I get an error? I was planning to erase Mint 15 which is an old distro with no further support I believe but I am stuck with this problem of the upgrade. Need to see if anybody can help me with this.

I downloaded and installed 3.15.11 from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/downloads.html (it's now at 3.16.2) and it works for my wireless HP printer, albeit a different model (Photosmart C4580).

Hplip is generic so should cope with a range of HP printers.

HP laserjet printer not printing with Mint Cinnamon 17.3

I managed to solve this issue myself by upgrading the HPLIP to the latest version 3.16.2 and then downloading a suitable plug-in as was recommended while doing the printer setup.
