My firefox web browser is starting to close on its own.

I have Ubuntu 8.04 and mozilla firefox 3 beta 5. I was going to ussoccer.com and all of a sudden the web browser just closed. I opened it again and chose to restart the session only for it to close a few seconds later. I have also tried to get on my bank website, but as soon as pressed enter, firefox closed again. I just don't get it because it just started happening. I have had linux and firefox for about a year now and works fine, but my firefox is just messing up.

Why are you using 8.04? Why haven't you upgraded?
I don't know what the problem would be, but why not try reinstalling Firefox or not using a beta? It could be because it's a beta, you could try to use the stable version.

Does it closes on pages containing flash content or other pages? I got these symptoms when I tried Adobe flash player beta on fedora 64bit.

Ubuntu 8.04 is the current LTS = "Long Term Supported"
Ubuntu and is OK.

sudo apt-get install firefox-3.0
provides firefox-3.0.13 , which is the safe version.

Oh, yeah ... I didn't think about it being the LTS, I wasn't thinking. Still, I would think trying the stable version of Firefox would be a very good idea.
