my dns can not be ping with another pc
 
i'd install a dns server using rhel 5 and it works. if i dig my dns from localhost it works but if i do dig from other pc it says "can't find such as domain"

please help me guys

to query for this?

i already set the client's dns to the server

but it keep saying no such nameserver

as informations

my client pc use windows xp.

How did you setup the DNS? You need to provide the information.

Does the server allow connections to port 53?

Also you might check if named is actually runing. (man ps)

(Edit) might try ps aux | grep named

i don't know....

how to check whether the port 53 is allowed in rhel 5???

please help me guys.....
