My best setup Would be ?

I have always used windows. I have all from 95 to XP Home. So I have a large collection of software for windows. I have been toying with the idea of switching to linux for sometime now. Now so more than ever. Because of Winblows Activaction BULL. I would like to know the best setup to start my journey into the linux world. I have 6 computers operating with 450 mhz P3 to amd 2.7 ghrz.

Thanks in avance for any help.

Try an installation on one of the machines - mandrake is a good start...

As for the win apps, quite a lot will run on linux using one of several methods like crossover, winex, wine, win4lin, vmware, and various other ways... systems based on wine don't require any 'real' windows installations...
