Unhappy My **LITTLE** List of problems

1. Sendmail: FIXED!

2. Double Status Screens (Is what I would call it):

After I log into Linux it goes through loading the panel and whatnot. When it reaches 'Restoring Session' a duplicate 'Status Screen' pops up and starts over. The first one will complete and the 2nd continue for about 1 minute more. It will stop at "initializing system services". Everything is smooth after that. Doesn't seem to cause any problems but It's not normal so I thought I'd mention it.

3. GOOD Web Browser:

Is there a GOOD Web Browser for KDE? (I liked MS IE so maybe something close to that? )

4. GOOD Chat Client:

Can anyone point me to a good AIM (& others such as MSN, Yahoo, etc) chat client? I don't like GAIM nor AIM for Linux. Are there any others for KDE?

5. LAN (Browsing & Printing):

I'm having trouble with connecting to the LAN (WAN works, connected to a LinkSys Router/Switch combo). Samba is configured and running. When I check the status (smbclient -L localhost) the printer is shared (printer is hooked to this box, would like to share it with my other XP box). Sometimes the status will show the other boxes, sometimes not. The Linux box shows in the XP box but is not accessible. I'll send the config file when I reboot into Linux (Dual booting XP & RH 8 at the moment, waiting to rebuild MY computer [ It's MY Baby! ]).

6. "Start Menu" (I'm a Windows Native)

I know it's not the "Start Menu" in KDE but that's what I'm referring to. How do I add app links to it? Can I change their icons?

P.S. I may have failed to include important details... if I did... PLEASE TELL ME!

Whoa. This is a long list of unrelated problem that should have probably made into several threads, but here goes...

1) Your problem is DNS resolution. A quick fix is to set
the Dj variable in your file. Make sure that
this is in your hosts file too.

3) Matter of preference... Konqueror, Mozilla, Phoenix...

4) Same... KAIM, Jabber,...
