MX512 Mouse not working.. HELP!

I have installed Redhat Linux 7.3, updated the kernel to 2.4.29 with grsecurity patch, installed XFree86 2.1, and finally fglrx driver for ATI Radeon 9600XT which is when the mouse stopped working.

I can start everything up with no problem but the mouse does not move at all. In the XF86Config-4 file, everything is okay and i've tried many many different combinations of things and none worked up to now.

I am using Protocol "IMPS/2", serverlayout is "CorePointer".

When i: cat /proc/interrupts, I see the mouse and I also do in: cat /proc/bus/usb/devices

When I try to: cat /dev/mouse OR /dev/input/mice and move the mouse around, no weird characters happen.

cat /proc/interrupts does not change as I move the mouse either, its recognized but its as if it just didnt exist or if its my mouse that had a problem (which isnt the case because it works under windows).

Also, when I un-plug or plug it in, the kernel senses the device's presence.

I am completely out of ideas on this one and have been trying to find a fix for 2 days.

Please help if you have any insights,

Thanks
