multiple sounds
 

ok, im running kde on mandrake 9.0,

heres my problem:
there can only be one sound at a time, example:
when im listening to music, i get beeps from amsn that wait until the song is over before playing the sound.

i heard that i could use a mixer to fix this, but i have no idea how to work them, i played around with kmix, and i cant seem to get it to work.
any suggestions? or am i just stuck with this?
