multiple rpm upgrade

Hi, would like to know if a mass upgrading of .rpm's is possible.

Using Suse 8.2 and since i only have 56k, i got a friend to download the 8.2 updates and put them on CD. Suse gives theoption to use a CD_Update but wont recognise my CD

I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade my installed packages by using a wildcard install that only freshened my currently installed packages.

It would save me looking at update logs and manually picking/installing many different .rpm's

Thanks for any help.

IIRC rpm -Fvh freshens currently installed packages
so you probably do something like
rpm -Fvh *.rpm

as answered above, yes you can. whether to use -Fvh or -Uvh is up to you though. i normally always use -Uvh. i can't remember what freshen means either. lol. a "man rpm" will explain it to you though.
