multiple glibc
 

well hey,

while trying to install ethereal, i found that i failed a whole bunch of dependencies. one of them was iconv, which required that i install glibc 2.2.5. however, i already have glibc-2.3 on there. my questions are these:
1) can i just download and install glibc2.2.5 so i can get that iconv piece working?
b) will 2.2.5 become the default glibc instead of 2.3xxx?

there is a glibc upgrading howto that's pretty involved
i've seen on the web. you can pick which one you want
to compile against, or make whichever the default.
