Multiple Display Problem Zorin OS (Deb Ubuntu 16.04)

I am running a HP 8000E desktop, 16g of ram, Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3ghz. I have an Intel Q45 chipset with onboard vga and my OS is Zorin 12.2 Ultimate.

A couple of months ago I added an AMD Radeon HD 7470 PCI-e card so I could use my DVI monitor also. There was absolutely no problem whatsoever. It practically set itself up. About a month ago the AMD card died and last week I purchased a replacement. The card I got is an HP stock card ( HP AMD Radeon HD 6570 ).

With the amd card installed, the Intel vga in not recognized. When I remove it the Intel is right there until the card is put back.

I've put in way too many hours on the web trying to solve this. Can you help me?

PS: I LOVE Linux! I don't know why I didn't start using it 30yrs ago....

Linux wasn't very good 30 years back. But I'm glad you're using it now! So, you have Intel onboard and AMD PCIe card? It usually doesn't work to switch between onboard and a video card. Normally you use one or the other.

Certain laptops are capable of switching between 2 different video processors. So, I think you just got lucky with the 7470 card. For instance, on my lappy, I can have 2 displays. But I can't run 1 display off one video processor and the other display off the other one.

I have a desktop that has a card with 2 outputs, and it runs dual display off that card. But it doesn't work to run one display off the card and one off onboard graphics.
