Multibootin linux

Hi I am new in Linux,
I have 3 partitions on a hd.
In one i have intalled winxp.
In the second partition for several reasons i MUST install win2000.
I know that by doing this i break the right order of os intallation (first win2000 second winxp e.t.c.) so i wont be able to boot winxp after that.
I would like to ask if i install linux (i have suse 9.3) will it be possible to boot from each of my different O.S. including winxp?
I mean will grub see linux,winxp,win2000 or it will see just linux and win2000?
thanx in advance

hi,

don't know about the issues of XP and 2000.
but once you have both of them, installing linux won't create any problem and you will be able to boot any of the o/s.

Grub will boot all three just fine, and should automatically see them when you install Suse. If it does not then you can always edit the Grub config later to do what you need. And if you don't know how to do that I am sure you could find a previous article on LQ somewhere that would be of assistance.

Mmmmm - maybe.
I might be inclined to fixboot/fixmbr from the XP CD after the W2K install.
This should clean up the boot.ini so XP and W2K behave themselves, and show up as expected.

Then do the Linux install - will dual boot and chainload the XP loader.

Haven't done it, so I'm just guessing.
