I currently have a 15gb maxtor as my primary drive with xp pro on it and then a 40gb for storage and I had a 2nd 15gb maxtor and it died so i send it back and they send me a 20gb well the 20 is the only one on my raid (Promise 20276). Xp is pissing me off . and i used to use linux alot (Dont really know anything in it) but switched for the gaming but i built a new computer last week so i game on that and i want to put the 40gb as master and put the 15gb on the raid with the 20gb and raid them to form a 35gb and install on that 35gb winxp for troblueshooting and 3 other distros Mandrake 9.1 Redhat 9 and Slackware 9. How would i do all this i dont really know raid im new to it. Thx for ur help
Also I have a wireless PCI Linksys card its a 2.4 ghz 802.11b model No. WMP11 I heard it is hard setting up a wireless card in linux? Is there any drivers for linux for that card? thx for ur help
They make sense to me and the 2.4ghz is the frequency on the card so if u knew anything about wireless cards u would know what that is i was asking the ppl that know how to install that card not ppl that dont know to just post WTF is 2.4ghz? so keep ur comments to urself unless its something with intellect
I actually didn't start posting for about 2 months after I signed up. From there it's been about a year now.
The real trick is getting a job where you work nights, 12 hours a shift, have at least 3 nights where you do absolutely nothing but surf LQ and TLDP, and getting paid for it all in large swoop.
That, and building a few linux-related projects (my MP3box that I installed in my truck) really helps you to learn the ins and outs so you can answer posts better, and more often. Then you just find the questions you know, go through and answer em.
I think a major contributor to the post count was BigJohn. Me and him have written a saga or 2, one was about getting sound from a cdrom, I think it turned out to be something like 200 posts in the end! Eventually things got worked out, and lucky for me, he still comes back
That, and I like to follow up on most of the questions I respond to, I like to make sure my help, well helped. If it didn't I try to figure out why, find a better answer, reword my existing one, and get the issue worked out. Eventually I ended up with 7 thousand posts, crazy.
Umm... the linksys page was not for my card and not even wireless and I gave the model number in my 2nd post a WMP11 which is on the linksys site but w/e i found wireless on lnux project. I did the raid myself but can someone please help me with the multi distros?
