Gaim is the best one too use. Except it hasn't got the notifications that you get when you get an email or someone login like it does in MSn or AMsn.

i hope they add that feature in the future, so i can dump msn in my windows and linux

i don't know how people say gaim is the best to use...you can't even a) utilize the features of msn itself, nor can you utilize the features of gaim using the using the msn protocol...there are alot of things in gaim that cannot be used unless you are using gaim for aim....gaim mainly only has support for aim, specs wise.....
if you want to use msn "normally" then get amsn....its plain and simple it has very nice features, and it docks in your panel, it has all kinds of nice features, plus more...

I suppose it depends on what you want your Instant Messenger client to do. I personally use it to send and receive messages, so it works absolutely fine (even the MSN protocol). I don't use it for any fancy features, like sending files or what-have-you. I upload them to my site and send a link to the file. But then, if you're used to MSN on Windows, you'll be used to all the bells and whistles, to go AMSN!

You will also get the notifications when you get a new email or someone login like it does in MSn or AMsn or messenger.

If you wish to have a Program almost Identical in look and feel (including emoticons etc...then I would have to suggest amsn.
Be aware that you will need to install something called ActiveTCL
if you do not have the wish command available , or are using a "thin-linux" system , such as Zipslack , or Phat Linux.
Amsn has my recommendation here.
