Angry MS Wireless Intellimouse Explorer will not work with Mandrake 8.2

I have tried and tried to get my MS Wireless Intellimouse Explorer to work with Mandrake 8.2. I have made all the reccomended changes that I have found on the forum to no avail.

When I move up and down I get nothing. When I move left or right I get up or down. When I hold a button and move or move the wheel I get right movement only. I get no expected button behaviour.

FYI I do have a Buslink USB 2.0 4 port expansion card that I have the mouse attached to.
