hello,
I install mplayer recently and it works just fine the only thing is that it only play the audio or video but the controllers doesn't show up. I use this command to install it rpm -ivh --nodeps mplayer*
Im using Fedora core2
I download this files

font-arial-iso-8859-1.tar.bz2
mplayer-1.0pre5-2.i386.rpm
mplayer-codecs-essential-20040704-1.i386.rpm
mplaye-common-1.0pre5-2.i386.rpm
mplayer-font-iso1-1.1-1.noarch.rpm
mplayer-gui-1.0pre5-2.i386.rpm

Thanks

Don't install with --nodeps. Maybe you missed some dependencies. Did you mean GUI for the 'controllers'. Btw I don't think these files (Abyss-1.1.tar.bz2, font-arial-iso-8859-1.tar.bz2) have anything to do with rpm installation.
