mplayer install failed, programs lost

I recently tried to install mplayer from the Mandrake 9.2 CD based on the recommnendations I'd read on this forum. Well.. the install seems to have failed and I appear to have lost some programs with it (most importantly Mandrake Control Center)

Can anyone offer any help on how to recover this without reformatting and starting over?

Open an x terminal and command

That should bring up the Mandrake Control Center.
