MPlayer GUI Shortcut and other probs :/

I've followed all the steps in the README, and its installed successfully, but im having a few n00b problems

If from a console i type:-

$ gmplayer -vo x11 <filename>

It will open up mplayer with the GUI and play the file but if I type:-

$ gmplayer -vo x11

and then click play, it gives me a -vo error even if i select a different file (which is what i would want to use it for)...

I tried to edit the ./mplayer/config file and added '-vo x11' to it but when i try and run it using 'gmplayer' it says that there is a missing parameter for -vo...

Basically I want to make a shortcut to open the GUI and work

Any ideas?

You should be able to change the Video Output (the -vo is that option) from within gmplayer's preferences. So, just launch gmplayer, and look around in the video ouput options, and select x11 as the default. That way, all you'll have to do is launch gmplayer

hehe thnx for the reply

Ive found an alternative way tho lol, I made a shortcut to the gmplayer file in /usr/local/bin/ and when i click it and press play it works Didnt need to specify the x11 either hehe

Now i just need to find a nice icon for the shortcut
