mp3 support with xmms

hi guys..
been searching google for ages now trying to resolve this.

i have fedora 2 installed...and xmms.

i wanted mp3 support so i downloaded that plugin and did su and installed the rpm..
i tried to run xmms but it doesnt play mp3s....hmmm ok so after a while i try running xmms from command window as root...and it plays mp3s from there...

any ideas how to fix this?

go to
get the xmms-1.2.10 rpm from there

install that by force

#rpm -ivh --force xmms-1.2.10-.i386.rpm

ans see if it works
also can u play .wav files from non root accounts
