Smile Mp3 player

I am running linux mint 17 and every few times I put new files on my mp3 player the files end up being corrupted,and when I connect to my windows machine it says that the mp3 player has some bad files on it. Can anyone shed some light on this problem,I use Dolphin file manager.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Do you select eject for the mp3 player before disconnecting it from your PC? Otherwise there should not be a problem.

What kind of MP3 player and what is the "connection type" on it?

I use an iRiver with the "connection type" set to MSC(UMS)--that's a configurable option in iRivers--and I've had no such issues with Mint or Slackware. Of course, I almost never connect it to a Windows machine, but I don't remember any such issues the few times I have.

Maybe the new mp3 files are corrupted to begin with.

Code:
harry@misohorny1:~$ cd Music
harry@misohorny1:~/Music$ ls
mp3  stream  Streaming
harry@misohorny1:~/Music$ cd mp3
harry@misohorny1:~/Music/mp3$ ls
Acid Drinkers - Seek And Destroy Studio Version.mp3
<snip>
ZZ Ward Til the Casket Drops - Pretty Little Liars.mp3
harry@misohorny1:~/Music/mp3$
None of mine end up corrupted on my RCA MP3 player or my BlackBerry Phone.

But I use rox file manager or thunar or spacefm. Not KDE Dolphin file manager which to me seems way more bigger than what I use. I bet those files may be no good. My mp4 files transfer fine also on both pieces of hardware mentioned above.
