Mozilla/Netscape won't run while Java installed

I've been trying for about 2 weeks to get java up and running with no luck. Not when I DO install java copy the plugin to the browser plugin location and make the symbolic link the program won't run at all. When I delete the libjavaplugin_oji.so from my browser dir it runs fine....what am I doing wrong?

No one can help you without knowing What version of Netscape, What version of Mozilla, and what version of Java.

It its netscape 7, and the latest mozilla, however. It wont function because I assume you have the wrong version of Java. For these versions, you need the Java 1.4.2 Beta set, and link the plugin to the ns610-gcc32 version of the plugin.

I'm using Netscape 7.1 , Mozilla 1.4 I didn't use the gcc32 but i'm pretty sure I did at one point (I'll try it again though). I do have Java 1.4.2 but not any beta ver, I'll check that out. and try linking to the other dir. I'll post how it works out

Thanx

The other thing to try would be Blackdown Java. They've compiled Java with several different versions of gcc so you can match it to your system.
