Mozilla Firefox 2.0 in Kubuntu
I've been looking for information on how to install Mozilla Firefox 2.0 in Kubuntu. I tried looking for automatix to maybe help me out, but cant seem to find a good link to download it.
Any info would be appreciated Thanks |

I just remembered something, just so you don't waste your time, Automatix doesn't install Firefox 2.0

What version of Kubuntu?

If you are running Edgy, then Firefox 2 is already available in the repositories. A simple "sudo aptitude install firefox" will install Firefox for you.
If you are running Dapper, either upgrade to Edgy, or install manually from mozilla.com. Just download the tarball from Mozilla and extract it to /usr/local/firefox (requires sudo). Then: Code:
mv /usr/bin/firefox /usr/bin/firefox1.5 --Ian |
I am running kubuntu 6.10. I'm such a newb to linux i dont know what you mean by edgy or dapper so how would i be able to tell? A friend of mine give me the cd and i just loaded it lmao. I'll keep looking and doing research, thx for all the great info guys.

Kubuntu 6.10 = Edgy Eft(this was the "nickname" for the distro while it was still in Beta) Kubuntu 6.06 = Dapper Drake(same as above) The next one is called Feisty Fawn, I do believe... Odd naming, thats for sure. IGF |
