mozilla( default one ) is not working

Hello all,
Currently i'm on Redhat 9.
Few hours back i compiled my kernel.
Everything was running smooth.
But now mozilla browser is not working. Its not giving any error etc...........just not
opening.
Till last time it was working ( i.e even after compiling kernel ).........but now its not.
So i don't think that i commited some mistake during compilation of kernel.
Nevertheless...i made changes in the following categories during compilation.

Note : i'm new to kernel compilation........

1> Processor type and Features
2> General setup -> hot plug
3> network options
IP: multicasting
IP:advanced router
IP:tunneling
The IPv6
ATM
Frame Diverter
DECnet
4> Telephony Support
5> IrDA ( infrared) Support
6> File Systems
Partition Types
7> USB Support
8> Bluetooth Support
9> Kernel hacking
..............................................................
To get over through this problem, i deleted the ".mozilla" from /root
and then rebooted the system
but still facing the same problem

could anyone suggest why all this happened....

regards

If you start it from a terminal, what happens?

Nothing is happeing........neither its executing the browser nor the control is coming back to the prompt.
The cursor is just staying on the next line.

Through other terminal i checked "ps -el"
for the entry of "mozilla-bin"....the status is "S".

regards

Note: i'm using the default mozilla browser of Redhat 9 i.e the inbuilt one.
