moving root after install

is it possible to move root after it is installed. If i have linux installed on hda and have a second disc hdd. can i move root from hda to hdd without reinstalling, or what is the best way to install /boot and swap on disk hda and / on disk hdd?

You ca do it but not while you're running the system (at least I think that's a bad idea). You can get knoppix or something like that which runs from a CD, and then basically copy over the stuff from one partition to the other (make sure to preserve attributes). After that, you have to make sure that the bootloader is configured right, and that your /etc/fstab is corrected as well.

i have a similar question
if i change disk order, ie i have two hard drives now with the root partition on hdb, and i change hdb to be hda how will that affect my system?
what files would need to be altered?

will the revolution be pay-per-view?

you'll probably have to reinstall the bootloader to the new hda and also make sure your /etc/fstab is all right (since everything that was on hdb will be on hda and vice versa).
