Moving directories to new directories

Hi! I currently am having a huge issue of moving multiple directories to a new directory. In my current situation I am trying to move users from my old /home directory to my new /home directory. I tarred the entire /home from the old machine and now extract and get home with all users inside. The problem is I cannot delete the system /home and simply copy the old home over. Is there any way I can copy the user directories inside home into /home.

Ex: ls home

jswan jswarts abriaham dlima

I want to copy these directories to the new /home without copying each and every one individually.

Thanks.

Did you tried from the console? if you did, do you get any error message?

Yes I am working from console. I need a solution that will copy multiple directories to a new directory instead of individually copying each user one by one.
