move postgres home directory how to?

Good day to all.
Can anyone help me to solve my prob with postgres home directory. Coz everytime i login as postgres this is that is says:
No Directory, logging in with HOME=/
Linux 2.4.26
Last login -"data/time" on tty3.
No mail.
postgres @Keanu:/$

although /home/postgres was alredy existing.
how can change home directory of my postgres to /home/postgres or /var/pgsql/data instead of logging into /.

thanks in advance..

Your home directory is set by /etc/passwd. For example, the postgres entry in my /etc/passwd file reads:
postgres:!:105:109:PostgreSQL administrator,,,:/var/lib/postgres:/bin/bash

This entry sets my home directory for the postgres account to:
/var/lib/postgres

Yes your right with that..
postgres:x:1002:102::/var/pgsql/postgres
..and that is /var/pgsql/postgres directory was missing! **me-dumb!**
