move files to new disk
 

ok, i am sure this has been posted before, but i have been upable to find it. i have a disk with a large dir on it. it is on partition 1 which is on the second part of the disk. i need to move it to the first part of the disk, so i can resize the partition to the whole disk. it seems parted can't resize the second part of the disk to 0. every thing i have tried to move this dir has yet to work. any ideas would be really really appreciated

cp -ax /old/disk /new/disk
